CapitaLand @ Ubix
23,000 sqft
Completion: 2024

An off-CBD workspace for a property developer client. As the alternative suburban location to the city HQ, the client used words like ‘informal, fun, refreshing’ to describe the design brief.

We took inspiration from city streetscapes in creating the atmosphere of this workplace, as a tribute to this client’s influence in developing and transforming urban neighbourhoods. The cafe and training rooms are planned along the window line to maximise the spread of natural light, whilst the multi-tiered terrace deck recalls city rooftop bars and lounges (whilst also functioning as a town hall stage).

We collaborated with mural artist @bbblob to imbue the spatial volumes with imaginative shapes and colours of a fantasy graffiti scene. The atmosphere is bold but soft, whimsical yet practical.

The building is B1 semi-industrial, with high ceilings and facade windows. Lighting channels were brought lower throughout the workfloor to reduce power consumption, and furniture was mostly reused from the client’s existing inventory.
